What is the difference between SVG and PNG?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) represents a 3-D image/vector file that can be sized up to any extent without getting pixelated. Since SVG files have many layers, they are perfect to use with cutting machines.

PNG (Portable Network Graphic), on the other hand, when stretched too far, may get fuzzy. A PNG does not have cut lines within the file.

SVGs are recommended for projects where one needs to include multiple layers and elements in the design. PNGs are perfect for simpler projects like printable vinyl or making stickers.  Additionally, since PNGs have a transparent background, they are great for creating mockups.
